This railcar made by Alstom is equipped with electric drives. Therefore, it contributes to protect the environment.
The studies about the ZTER railcar especially focused on the quest for performance, the optimization of the comfort
and the safety of the passengers and the design of the inside of the railcar as well.

The ZTER is a two-voltage railcar (1500 V DC, 25000 V AC 50 Hz).
The commercial speed of the ZTER (2 power units and one car) reaches 124 mph (200 kph).
Each ZTER trainset contains 217 seats.
Four French regions (Aquitaine, Bretagne, Centre, Pays de la Loire and Poitou-Charentes)
ordered ZTER railcars (57 units).
The first ZTER railcars will be brought into service in the end of 2003 or at the beginning of 2004.
