The Diesel railcar (an element of the CORADIA family by Alstom for regional and intercity service) was bought by many French regions. This single-unit railcar has been used since 1999. It paved the way for a long period of modernization of the Diesel railcars in France such as the XTER (X 72500) railcar manufactured by Alstom Transport in Aytré (Charente-Maritime).
